HOUT BAY PSYCHOTHERAPY

I am a registered Social Worker with fifteen years' experience working with children, teens, adults, parents and families both in the UK and most recently at a Model C High School in Cape Town for three years. In addition to my BA in Social Work and Social Work Honours degrees from the University of Stellenbosch, I have a Master's Degree from the Tavistock Clinic in London, specialising in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am currently also completing a second Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work at UCT, specialising in psychiatric care as well as psychotherapy with individuals, couples, families and groups. I work from a holistic perspective, which means I consider my clients from within their environment and network of influences, with the view to understand how it has or continues to impact them. I am also mindful that we are shaped and influenced by our intergenerational story.  

 

I can work in English as well as Afrikaans. I am LGBTQIA+ as well as gender-friendly with an understanding of how delicate, complex and often painful these aspects can be to grapple with.
